Morning Assembly

In 2015, after being promoted to Associate Professor at Government Muslim Science Degree College in Hyderabad, I was faced with the exciting challenge of managing a burgeoning student body that had reached approximately 2000 enrollees. This significant increase in enrollment brought with it a diverse group of students, with around half of them actively attending classes. Recognizing the need for a structured environment to foster discipline and enhance the educational experience, I took the initiative to establish a Morning Assembly at the college. This assembly served as a platform for students to gather each morning, promoting a sense of community and shared purpose.

The Morning Assembly included various activities such as the recitation of the Quran, motivational speeches, and announcements regarding academic and extracurricular events. It was designed not only to instill discipline but also to encourage students to engage with one another and develop a sense of responsibility towards their education and peers. The positive impact of this initiative was evident, as it helped create a more focused and respectful atmosphere within the college.

During a visit to our college, the Director General recognized the value of the Morning Assembly and praised the initiative for its effectiveness in promoting student engagement and discipline. He was so impressed that he mandated the implementation of similar assemblies across all colleges in Sindh, highlighting the importance of such practices in enhancing the educational environment throughout the region.

Later, when I transitioned to the role of Principal at Government Boys Degree College in Matiari, I was determined to carry forward the successful practice of the Morning Assembly. I personally oversaw its implementation, ensuring that the same principles of discipline, community, and daily guidance were upheld. The Morning Assembly at Matiari became a cornerstone of the college’s culture, fostering a sense of belonging among students and encouraging them to take an active role in their education. Through this initiative, I aimed to create an environment where students felt motivated and supported, ultimately contributing to their academic success and personal development.
