Literacy Walk

Each year, under the directions of the Government, a ‘Literacy Day Walk’ is organized in partnership with the NCHD to honor International Literacy Day. The primary objective of this event is to promote awareness regarding the essential role that literacy and education play in transforming lives and fostering a prosperous Pakistan. This year’s theme, ‘Enhance the Enrollment in Schools,’ was prominently featured throughout the walk.

A diverse group of participants, including government officials, educators, volunteers, students, and members of civil society, took part in the walk, which began at the EDO Matiari Head Office and concluded at the Press Club Matiari. The event included insightful speeches, poster exhibitions, and a literacy pledge ceremony.

All officials underscored the significance of literacy as a means of equipping individuals with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for contributing effectively to the socio-economic development of the nation. This initiative transcends a mere program; it represents a nationwide movement aimed at engaging every literate citizen in the collective effort to eradicate illiteracy.
